Extra Chapter 4: Touch of Memory

Touch of Memory is a side quest after you have beaten Reciful. You have to complete the Moon Shards quest first and beat the Holy Egg to access this quest.

When you talk to Tosl, select the Holy Egg to warp instead of the Devil Egg. The Devil Egg is the item to end the first part of the Ge.ne.sis game.

Strategy Guide

Even though your party is outnumbered, don’t be intimidated. Your characters at this level should be very capable. Hobears are slow as usual and won’t be much of an issue. Set up a defense at the choke point and bombard them with your magical abilities.

Anatnom is deadly if left alone. If you have been following Nera’s Moon Waltz build, keep  her out of his range. Because Nera can’t retaliate against ranged assaults, and thus can’t use Moon Waltz, she will go down very fast. Otherwise, proceed with the battle with usual strategy.

Tips for this battle:

Nera’s magic build is very vulnerable against ranged assaults; be careful and don’t let Anatnom get a chance to attack her.

Strategy Guide

Your party starts surrounded by a lot of rabeans. Depending on your builds, you should either focus on killing the rabeans on your first turn, or spend a turn to conjure Tarots. The rabeans and the Queen Bean are very weak against fire attacks, so consider using the Magician’s Soulburst, Solar Wrath, on them. Sisily’s Warp Tornado is much better than her Electrify Kisses in this battle.

Again, consider closing in on the Queen Bean fast. Your best unit to take her down is Death or Gelyan. The Magician can deal a high amount of damage to her, but he is too slow and may not be able to reach his target fast enough. If possible, use the Fool to swap the Magician closer to her.

Strategy Guide

Things are getting more interesting this battle. Forest Memory has strong physical attacks, but his power lies in his Yellow ability. Not only does it deal a lot of damage, but it also never misses. Therefore, Forest Memory is extremely deadly against all characters, especially Nera. Overall, Forest Memory is a supreme melee unit; it is best to not get into a direct fight with him.
There are three Aquolfs that accompany him in this battle. Take care of them first before they cause too much trouble.

As strong as Forest Memory is, he has the weakness of a melee character. Have Nera use Soul Ritual on him and try to deal as much damage as you can in two turns before he can attack again. Consider using Soul Ritual only after all of the Aquolfs are gone so your party can focus their fire on Forest Memory.

If you have the Lovers Tarot, conjure them instead of the Magician. Broken Thunder (or Broken Flame) is very useful in this battle, allowing Emi to deal much more damage than usual. Otherwise, don’t use Emi on Forest Memory and save her energy for other abilities.

Depending on Gelyan’s build, there are different strategies to beat this battle. If Gelyan has been using an endurance build, skip a few turns to save enough energy for two uses of Soul Pact, which should be enough to defeat the Hanged Man.

If Gelyan has been using a sniper build, remove his Marksmanship and Sniper Sense Perks. This should allow you to have enough HP to survive and use Soul Pact. You can also conjure the Fool to absorb the damage and stock enough energy to use Armor Crusher or Trigger Happy.

Strategy Guide

Don’t take Armlus too lightly. This time he has a lot of support from his fellow yetis. Be on your toes; one slip-up may cost you the battle.

Consider trying the Hanged Man in this battle. On the second turn, he can use Dark Gravity to pull Armlus next to the party. Remember that Dark Gravity can be used twice per turn: once during the move phase and once during the action phase. Once Armlus is in your range, unleash all of your firepower and take him down as soon as possible. You may be able to defeat him before he can even act.

In any case, once you start focusing on him, do not stop. His HP recovery is exceptional, and he may recover if you let him stay in the fight for too long. Once the Hanged Man’s HP has gotten low, consider using his Soulburst: Last Exile. Not only does his Soulburst inflict damage, it also cripples your target for the rest of the battle.

Nera can deal a lot of damage to the yetis. After Armlus is gone, have her go on a rampage with the support of other characters. The rest should flow easily.

Strategy Guide

This is another challenging battle. Crystal Memory is as strong as Forest Memory but without his weakness: she has three range. The ability to retaliate against ranged attacks makes Soul Ritual less useful. Your party also has a bad starting position, being surrounded by cloud hoppers.

On your first turn, try to position your units so that Sisily is not in the range of the cloud hopper in the back. You may also consider conjuring the High Priestess for her healing ability instead of Death, since Crystal Memory only uses magical attacks (Blue and White) and can destroy Death quite easily.

Last Exile is extremely useful in this battle since it can deal up to 10,000 damage and make Crystal Memory much less dangerous. Depending on your builds, you can try to take Crystal Memory down first before the cloud hoppers. Emi and Sisily are very useful against her since they have decent resist and Yellow abilities. In any case, do try to take down the Cloud Hopper on the back.

If you have the Lovers, Forbidden Spark is very strong against Crystal Memory. Its Broken Will Perk also prevents the Lovers from going down too fast. Consider conjuring them instead of the Magician. Energy is very sacred in this battle, so use it wisely.

Now that you have a wide varties of abilities to use, Gold Feeders shouldn’t be much trouble anymore.

One of the easier ways to win this battle is to utilize Dark Gravity. Have Gelyan conjure the Hanged Man and use Dark Gravity to pull both Gold Feeders to the right side of the battle field. Likewise, get all your other characters out of their range and destroy the Gold Heart. Do not attempt to fight the Gold Feeders if the Gold Heart is still present.

Gelyan and the Hanged Man should be able to hold off the Feeders for a few turns. It is best if Nera conjures the High Priestess to help them with her healing and Essence of Life. After the Gold Heart has been defeated, run your party back and help Gelyan. Just like before, without any defense and resist, they should fall very quickly.

Strategy Guide

This is a very challenging battle, but there are many ways to beat it. Your first target should be the Beholder’s arms. However, they barely move and are far in the back field. Rushing toward them may prove to be catastrophic. Again, consider using Dark Gravity to pull them over for a good beating. You may also want to use Gelyan (if he has the Marksmanship and Sniper Sense Perks) to snipe them off.

Take down the bandits fast and use everything you have in this battle. The Beholder is very deadly with his magic, so if things get to hairy, use Soulburst abilities to disable him. Do your best to protect Sisily and her Tarot. Without them there won’t be enough energy and will lead to certain defeat.

Nera’s Moon Waltz followed up with Crystal Ballad can deal insane amounts of damage on both the bandits or the Beholder. Do not let Nera fall by saving some energy to use Moon Waltz after each turn. If she is targeted she still can heal herself with Moon Waltz.

Extra Battle: Master of the Tale!

The next battle is the last challenge of the first part of Ge.ne.sis. It is also the hardest one. If you have saved up the consumable items (such as Nature Breath, Wind Breath etc.), use them all before this battle.

Strategy Guide

Congratulations! You have reached the final challenge of the first part of the game. Let’s take a look at our enemy first. Tale Memory is the most durable unit so far with 255,555 HP. That colossus HP pool is backed up by high defense, resist and a decent dodge rate. The worst part is, Tale Memory can cast Broken Heaven which will heavily damage all members of your party. His normal attacks are no joke, either, and can defeat any unit in a turn. Tale Memory will take 25% extra damage from Yellow or Red abilities.

This battle requires careful preparation to beat. There are several ways to win, but the following is a strategy that I used.

Preparation:

Nera:

While not having as much HP as Gelyan and a lower HP recovery rate, Nera is your best unit to tank Tale Memory. She has an incredible dodge rate which will somewhat nullify Tale Memory’s physical attacks, as well as the Moon Waltz ability which can heal her during combat. For this role, Nera must be built for Moon Waltz. If you used a power build on Nera, consider using Divine Breath to reset her attributes.

Attribute build:
7 Power, 4 Endurance, 16 Magic, 18 Agility (without items)

Perks:
Power Overwhelming and Flash Steps.

Gely:

Gelyan in this battle should play the role of a heavy mortar. His build doesn’t really matter, but an endurance build is preferred for higher damage with Soul Pact. However, a power build with Armor Crusher still can deal almost as much. For Perks, consider using Eagle Eyes to make sure your hits connect and Sniper Sense for power.  If you are going to use Soul Pact, Unshaken Heart and Rejuvenating Heart are better Perks to pick.

Sisily:

Sisily should play her role as the energy supplier and secondary fire support. A pure magic build is preferred, however, a battle mage build still can do well. For Perks, Shining Soul and Energized Soul are good picks. If you are careful, Frost Guard and Flame Guard are ok to reduce the magic damage.

Actual Battle:

The map is built for you in this battle. On the first turn, have Nera block the choke point right away and conjure Death. Gelyan should conjure the Hanged Man and Sisily should conjure the Lovers (or the Magician).

Save at least 18 energy so if Tale Memory attacks Nera she can heal herself with Moon Waltz. On your second turn, use Soul Ritual to temporarily stop Tale Memory. DO NOT attempt to break the choke position and attack him. Dealing 250,000 damage in 2 turns is not possible. Soul Ritual is only needed to delay the boss for the set up. Use Last Exile to lower his power and Broken Heaven if you have the Lovers.

On the third turn, Conjure the High Priestess. Without her Essence of Life and Grand Blessing, your whole party will be decimated by Tale Memory’s fullscreen attack. Conjure the Fool for HP Leeching and start hitting Tale Memory. When you have a free turn on the High Priestess, use Grand Blessing on Nera to heal her and increase her Power.

The most important thing is to save at least 18 energy before your turn ends so Nera can use Moon Waltz to survive the attack. If she is beaten, the battle is lost. Feel free to use Crystal Ballad to hit Tale Memory at times, but make sure you don’t overdo it. Surviving is the top priority. Let other characters take care of attacking. It may take a while, but eventually you will win the battle.

Tips for this battle:

This is one of many ways to beat Tale Memory. Another way is utilize Death’s Soul Bond. Be creative and come up with your own strategy!

Extra Chapter 3: Moon Shards

Moon Shards

Strategy Guide

Finally you get a chance to challenge Armlus properly! He is, however, even stronger than before. Starting with a colossus 65,000 HP, Armlus is the most durable character that you have encountered so far. He also has 20% HP recovery, which translates to 13,000 HP recovery every turn! Armlus is built to last. Luckily, he is by himself!

The battle map is not very good since it is a narrow path. It takes lot of positioning for your whole party to participate in the battle effectively. You should have Death before fighting Armlus. Not only is her Essence of Sorrow useful, but her Soul Ritual will paralyze Armlus, thus nullifying his HP recovery.

The Fool’s Castling is particularly important in this battle. If you remember, you can use it twice per turn. Try to swap Nera away from Armlus after she performs her attack.

After you have gotten Armlus’ HP down to about 40k, use Nera’s use Soul Ritual on him and follow it with the Fool’s Soulburst, Plastma Solstice. Focus your fire on him for a couple of turns and you will win the battle.

Tips for this battle:

Use Death’s Soul Ritual. It is extremely useful on boss battles, especially if the boss is a melee-type unit.

After this battle, Nera will gain the ability Moon Waltz. If she has decent Magic, Moon Waltz is an excellent buff that can be used during combat. It will heal Nera and raise her power simultaneously.

Strategy Guide

The bandits are back, now with more power!

This battle is much like the first time you encountered Saber; however, he and his gang have gotten much stronger. His dodge rate is extreme at the massive 850, and that makes him pretty much immune to abilities with average hit rate. His ability to poison and act 4 times during combat doesn’t help much, either.

Death, again, is your absolute key to victory. On your second turn, have Death attack Saber with Iron Maiden, then have Nera use Soul Ritual on him as soon as possible before he tears though your ranks. After you have paralyzed him, focus your fire on his lackeys and try to eliminate them before Saber can act again.

Protect Sisily and the Magician, since they are your main source of energy. Without energy, the battle is lost.

Nera’s Crystal Ballad can deal a lot of damage to Saber. If you have a decent amount of Magic attribute on Nera, use Moon Waltz first in the beginning of the duel to improve your damage. Saber can only use his poison ability when he is attacking, so rest assured. You can conjure the High Priestess after Death has been Soulbursted, but it is optional.

Tips for this battle:

Use Death’s Soul Ritual. It is extremely useful in boss battles, especially if the boss is a melee-type unit.

Use field abilities if you want to make sure your attack will connect. Field abilities never miss.

Strategy Guide

If you think the battle with the Trojan alone was challenging, think again. This time he is accompanied by Chio. Even though she only has one attack, her Vine Grow ability is particularly dangerous. Not only are the damage and range extraordinary, it is White natured and can destroy characters like Death or the Fool easily. Luckily, she will only attack the characters that are closest to her; therefore, plan your moves carefully to spread out the damage.

Use the same basic strategy that was used the last time you encountered Trojan. Have Emi support the party with Lightning Aura since her abilities deal very little damage to both Trojan and Chio. Emi actually makes a decent tank against Trojan due to her Yellow immunity.

You should avoid their range on the first turn, but don’t play too defensively. If Trojan decides to charge your party, it is a good chance to focus fire or disable him with Soul Ritual. It is advisable to take out Chio first, but as long as you don’t spread out the damage, you should be fine. Consider conjuring the High Priestess after you have Soulbursted Death. Her Essence of Life can render Trojan’s Thunder Beam almost completely useless.

If you were following the power build for Gelyan and have the Marksmanship Perk on him, use Gelyan to snipe Chio. He can damage her severely and out-range her. The Magician can also use Meteor Strike to hit her from afar without the fear of retaliation.

Tips for this battle:

After this battle, Sisily will get a new battle ability called Warp Tornado. Warp Tornado is similar to Crystal Ballad since it damages enemies both magically and physically. In general, Warp Tornado is weaker than Electrify Kisses but has a higher hit rate. Warp Tornado is effective even if the target has a high resist.

Defeat the Holy Egg
Reward
  • All character gain a level
  • Acquire: Flame Breath
  • Acquire: Holy Egg
Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

Oh no, the Holy Egg is coming for you! The Holy Egg is one of the most challenging bosses in the game. With 120,000 HP, three powerful magical attacks, and two absolute shields, it will require a lot of patience and a perfect strategy to beat him.

Let’s take a look at our enemy. First of all, the Holy Egg is immune to all White damage; therefore, don’t use Jelly Shot or Plasma Solstice on it. Secondly, the Holy Egg has two kinds of shields: a magic shield that allows it to be immune to all Red, Blue, and Yellow attacks while taking 150% damage from physical attacks, and a physical shield that blocks all Black attacks while taking 150% damage from magical attacks. Luckily, only one shield can be active at any given time.

The trick is to know which shield is active so you don’t make a mistake. The factor that decides the active shield is actually the time when you fight the Holy Egg. For the first 30 minutes of any hour, the physical shield is active. For the rest of the hour, the magic shield is active. You can also test this by throwing a field skill, such as Meteor Strike or Thunder Rod, on the Holy Egg. If it doesn’t deal any damage, then the magic shield is active and the Holy Egg can only be damaged by physical attacks. The shield can change during battle. For example, at 7:29 PM the Egg will be immune to magic but at 7:31 PM it will be immune to physical attacks. The strategy to be used is entirely different depending on which shield is active.

1) If the Holy Egg is immune to Magic

When the magic shield is active, the Holy Egg will take 150% damage from all physical attacks. However, its attacks are still extremely dangerous. Your best bet would be HP leeching. Since the Holy Egg has relatively low defense, Death, Nera, Gelyan, and the Fool will deal very high damage to it.

Have Death use Soul Bond on Gely and Nera. With the Fool’s Essence of Slyness, your HP leeching will be enough to out-heal the damage you receive! Have other characters stand by to supply energy since Soul Bond will severely lower the magic attribute of your characters.
Alternatively, you may consider using Soul Bond on Sisily since her Warp Tornado can deal a good amount of physical damage. However, be careful that you still have enough energy to supply the attacks.

It may seem like a good idea to use Soul Ritual in this battle. However, unless you are about to finish it off, don’t use Soul Ritual too early. Even when paralyzed, the Holy Egg still can retaliate and losing Death’s Essence of Sorrow is a bad idea. Without Essence of Sorrow, Holy Egg can recover about 11,000 HP every turn.

2) If the Holy Egg is immune to Physical attacks

Even though the Holy Egg takes 150% damage from Red, Yellow, and Blue abilities, a magic contest with it still spells disaster. The Holy Egg has a Red, Blue, and Yellow ability, which means none of your characters has high natural resistance against its magic.

If you have Sisily’s Perk Basilisk Blood or Gorgon Blood, by all means use them. The Holy Egg has only 7 agility, therefore, those Perks will lower the amount of actions it can take during a duel to only one. That will effectively half the Holy Egg’s power.

Aside from Sisily and Gelyan, all other characters are in risk of being eliminated in a single duel; try to keep distance from it. The Holy Egg can only move 2 tiles per turn, so use the battle field to your advantage. Since your starting positions are at 4 corners of a big battle field, you can avoid fighting it for a very long time if you move properly. Likewise, bombard it with your Meteor Shower, Thunder Rod and Soul Eater.

If Sisily has been following a battle build with decent endurance and agility, you may be able to fight the Holy Egg directly with her. Having the Gorgon Blood or Basilisk Blood Perk is a must. If you have Frost Guard or Flame Guard, equip them too. Have the High Priestess heal Sisily after every turn, and have the Fool ready to swap her out of trouble if things turn sour.

When the physical shield is up, Gelyan is useless in this battle (unless you have Soul Pact). Have him bait and tank for a few hits if possible, but overall just try to stay out of trouble.

Tips for this battle:

  • There is a small cheat against the Holy Egg. If you want to fight the Holy Egg in another mode but the time isn’t right, simply adjust your computer clock.
  • Take advantage of the Holy Egg’s low movement points and the vast open map. Have a character run away if necessary.
  • If you have to fight the Holy Egg when its physical shield is on, use field abilities to damage it.
  • If you have to fight the Holy Egg when its magic shield is on, take advantage of HP leeching abilities.
  • Soul Eater and Soul Ritual will bypass the Holy Egg’s shields.
  • If Gelyan has the Soul Pact ability, he can also bypass the Holy Egg’s shields. Soul Pact can be obtained after a boss fight during the main story line.
  • You can go ahead with the next battle in the main story line to gain a level for your character and come back to fight the Holy Egg later if you wish.

Sisily is not participating in this battle. Therefore, if you went for a non-magic build on Nera and Gely, you will find yourself in need of extra energy. Have Emi hang back and supply the party with her energy since her attack is not effective against cloud hoppers.

If you have Death, use her. She can dish out incredible amounts of damage against cloud hoppers, as they are weak against physical damage. You can also use Soul Bond on Gely or Nera to allow them to leech HP. Coupled with the Fool’s Essence of Slyness, your character can get back to full HP with their attacks!

Overall, follow the basic strategy and avoid using magic on them.

Tips for this battle:

Death is very useful when physical damage is needed. Be aggressive when you use her since she can leech HP from enemies.

The Sky Lord is much like a buffed up version of a normal cloud hopper. He has extra range that allows him to counter magic attacks, and he has much more HP. Your starting position is rather poor, with a crowded map which can prove to be difficult.

Sisily is in range of the Sky Lord and most likely will be targeted if she didn’t follow a battle build. There is not much you can do about it; have her conjure the Magician (or the Lovers if you have them).

Death is extremely useful in this battle. Since the Sky Lord has a pretty good dodge rate but is weak against physical attacks, save energy for Death to use her Iron Maiden attack. Emi again should play a support role since her magic isn’t very powerful against him. Use Death’s Soulburst, Soul Ritual, if things get dicey.

Nera’s Crystal Ballad is always useful and this battle is no exception. The magic portion of Crystal Ballad won’t do much damage but her physical part should be enough to make up for it.

Strategy Guide

Depending on when you encounter this boss, this battle can range from easy to very challenging. All Nera, Sisi, and Gely’s shadows have all of the attributes of their counterpart. However, just like all the shadows, they are immune to physical attacks. The Shadow Master has low movement points but high range, which lets him stay in the backline and remain dangerous.

There are many ways to beat this battle. One of the good ways is using the Fool’s Plasma Solstice, which will deal 10,000+ damage on  Shadow Master, and Death’s Soul Ritual which will paralyze him.

Try to stay out of range of the shadow army on your first turn and match up the duels correctly on the second turn. Sisily’s shadow will die quickly from Nera or the High Priestess’s spells. She should be taken down first because of the high damage that she can dish out. Sisily or Emi can quickly defeat Nera’s shadow with their Yellow abilities.

Sisily, the Magician (or the Lovers) and Emi are your most important damage dealers in this battle; don’t let them get sniped off by Gely’s shadow. Overall, if you can utilize Soulburst abilities correctly in this battle, victory is as good as yours.

Tips for this battle:

All shadows are immune to physical damage. They also mimic the attributes of their counterparts and have double HP.

Consider using Plasma Solstice, since all the shadows are weak against White abilities. If you have the Lovers, Broken Heaven will rip through the shadows.

After this battle, Gelyan will learn Soul Pact. If you have been following an endurance build for Gelyan, Soul Pact can dish out lot more damage than your other abilities.

However, Cerberus is exceptional in terms of speed. Not only does he have a high dodge rate and agility, his Light Speed Perk allows him to act twice per turn.

This map layout is totally in your favor. There is a single choke point which is perfect to set up for a gang up. Have Nera block this choke point, since she has the highest chance of survival with her high Red Natural Resistance and dodge rate. Use the Fool’s Castling to set up your battle field and swap Nera out of trouble if necessary.

The High Priestess is actually a good choice for this battle. You can use her to heal the tank and buff your characters. Her Blue Paradise also has a lasting effect on your party for the rest of the battle. Death is a solid choice as always; her Soul Ritual cannot fully paralyze Cerberus, but it can still prevent his Light Speed Perk to kick in for 2 turns.

Sisily’s Tornado Warp and Gelyan’s Soul Pact are good abilities to use against Cerberus. However, if Gelyan has been following a sniper build, Jelly Shot followed up with Trigger Happy or Armor Crusher are better choices.

Tips for this battle:

  • Use the choke point to maximum effect. Don’t let Cerberus rip through your back line.
  • Soul Ritual is not very effective against Cerberus. Cerberus under the effect of Soul Ritual can still act once per turn.

Reciful is too strong for your party at this moment. Not only does he have amazingly strong battle abilities, he also has the Vengeance Perk which will reflect all damage done to him. Therefore, it is not possible to win against him. You still can proceed with the game even if you lose this battle.

This battle is very easy. Esis has Grand Cosmos, which is the strongest spell available in this game. Coupled with her 40 magic attribute, she can finish Reciful off in one turn.

Never use her Grand Cosmos if Esis is on defensive position, since it won’t be strong enough to drain 80,000 HP and you still get your damage reflected.

Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

This battle is harder than it looks. Firstly, you no longer have Emi, therefore your party is lacking mobility. Armor bandits have high HP and defense, which makes a very good shield for the bow bandits, who are dangerous as usual. Try to use magic abilities against armor bandits since physical damage is quite ineffective against them.

There are 2 choke points on this map that you can use. If Gely went for an endurance build, have him and Nera block the choke point. Sisi and the Magician can stand behind them to provide support fire. The High Priestess should stand next to the bow bandits to absorb damage, but she shouldn’t attack them. It is best to have her heal herself or other allies.

If Gely went for a sniper build, have him stand right behind the rock and snipe the bow bandits with Marksmanship Perk. The High Priestess can take his place and block the choke point.

Defeat the Gold Feeder

  • Gelyan gains a level
  • Gelyan learns a new ability: Armor Crusher
Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

Welcome to another boss battle! Like other bosses, the Gold Feeder is very special and requires some unique tricks to be beaten. At first glance, he seems pretty much invincible with 999 defense and 999 resist. Most of your abilities will deal less than 10 damage to him (aside from the Magician who can reduce his resist to 450). He also has strong physical attacks and a magic attack that he uses to counter anyone who hit him from 2 tiles away.

Fighting the Gold Feeder the normal way won’t cut it. However, if you look carefully on the map, there is a floating gold heart right behind him. That is his source of power. If you destroy that gold heart he will lose all his Resist and Defense!

The battle map is divided in half by a big block of rock in the middle. Have Gelyan move closer to the Gold Feeder using the lower path to lure him. Have Nera, Sisily and the Tarots advancing using the upper path. Do not attack the Gold Feeder!

On the third turn, the High Priestess and Nera should be close enough to deliver hits to the Gold Heart. After it is gone, feel free to unleash all of your attacks on the Gold Feeder. With no resist and defense, he would go down like a rock.

Tips for this battle:

  • Do not attack the Gold Feeder unless the Gold Heart is gone.
  • Try to use a strong character to absorb the damage and lure the Gold Feeder while the others can sneak up to the Gold Heart.

Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

This battle would be very easy if your party didn’t start with 1 HP! Still, don’t be too worried. The key to victory is using Soulburst abilities. Use the High Priestess’s Blue Paradise to recover all your character’s HP. You can also use the Magician’s Solar Wrath to soften the Armor Bandits, but it is optional.

Overall, apply the normal technique and you should win this battle without any problems.

Tips for this battle:

  • Use Soulburst abilities. They can turn the tide of a battle.
  • Gelyan’s Armor Crush ability is very useful against enemies that have high defense. Not only does this ability bypass defense, it deals 1% extra damage for each point of the target’s defense.

22nd Battle: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…

Nera gained a level after the previous battle, so use her attribute points. She also learned a new battle ability called Crystal Ballad which is extremely useful for the next battle.

Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

This battle is straightforward and pretty easy. The Fool has superior range, damage and HP recovery, but he can’t move. Approach him carefully and utilize Nera’s new ability Crystal Ballad.

If you feel like cheating, use the High Priestess’s Grand Blessing to raise Nera’s Power to maximum (40) for a sure win. He can’t move so you can take as much time as you like to prepare for the battle.

Tips for this battle:

Nera’s Crystal Ballad ability is unique. The first spell deals Blue damage and decreases the target’s dodge rate by 500. The following three slashes are physical damage. Therefore, this ability deals both Blue and Black damage. Both magic and power improve the overall damage of this ability.

23rd Battle: Can’t take my eyes off of you!

Strategy Guide

Another boss battle! Compared to all the fights that you have won, this one is the most challenging so far.

Let’s have a look at your enemies first. Saber has an extremely high dodge rate (700) which means he can reduce the hit rate of all abilities by 70%. Most of your normal abilities (First Dance, Trigger Happy etc.) will barely scratch him.  Not only that, he also has a healthy amount of HP and powerful aggressive battle abilities. His Poison Tail can cause a unit to lose 25% of its HP every turn. In addition to the damage he can do, his enemy faces certain defeat. He is also supported by 4 bandits who make things much more complicated.

You get to control Gelyan again, and now he can also conjure a new Tarot: The Fool. The Fool is your best bet to absorb the damage since he has high endurance and Black damage resistance. Since The Fool cannot move, he can use Castling to switch places with your characters to protect them.  You can use Castling in both the move and action phase.

Nera is your key to victory here. Her Crystal Ballad not only deals high amount of damage but also has a very high hit rate (150%). If you went for a magic build (Moon Waltz build) with Nera, she will have low HP and is very delicate; therefore, use a hit and run tactic with her. Have Nera attack and defeat the sword bandit then use the Fool’s Castling to get her out of the battle so Saber can’t attack her. Try to defeat both sword bandits on your second turn.

Your starting position is perfect to set up a wall. Have Gelyan conjure the Fool above him to complete a wall. The High Priestess can be used for blocking and healing. Also, the High Priestess’s Azure Wings is one of the few abilities that can really damage Saber, so use it whenever you have a chance. The best way to defeat Saber is using Nera and the High Priestess to attack him before he has a chance to do too much damage. Finish him off with Soulburst abilities if necessary.

Tips for this battle:

  • You don’t have to defeat all the bandits to win this battle.
  • Saber has a very high Dodge rate; therefore, only use abilities with a high hit rate against him (Crystal Ballad, Frozen Steps, Azure Wing etc.).
  • Sisily’s new ability, Electrify Kisses, can deal a massive amount of damage. However, the hit rate is normal (100%) so it is not good against Saber. Feel free to use it on the other enemies, however.

This battle is pretty easy. Despite having a very high dodge rate, leapers are very weak against Red abilities. Avoid them on the first turn and overwhelm the leapers on the second turn. Try to defeat at least one of them before they get to act. If both leapers are still alive after your second turn, you are in big trouble!

Tips for this battle:

  • Position yourself well on the first turn to avoid enemies.
  • Use focused fire to defeat weakened enemies before they can recover HP.

Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

Finally you get to control Neraine and Gelyan again! Even though the enemies are the same as before, this battle is harder since Nera and Gely don’t have any Red abilities.

Nera’s Frozen Steps will always hit, however it is very weak against the leapers so it’s best not to use it. Instead, have her whack away with First Dance. Even though First Dance will miss often, the high damage and high number of hits will make up for it. Gelyan should always use the Jelly Shot + Trigger Happy  combo to deal maximum damage. Jelly Shot will make it much easier for Trigger Happy to hit.

Basic techniques apply (get in the first hit, focus attacks on one enemy at a time). Nera also has a decent dodge rate and you can always count on the leapers to miss her. With a good plan and small portion of luck, you should win this battle without too much trouble.

Tips for this battle:

The High Priestess should avoid the leapers unless you are trying to land the last hit. If you get unlucky, her attacks may miss and the leapers can leech HP from her.

Strategy Guide

Everyone is together for a big battle!

There are many ways to win this battle if you follow the basic strategy. One of the fastest ways is using the Magician’s Soulburst, Solar Wrath. Conjure the Magician and use Solar Wrath on the second turn. All enemies will be severely damaged and you can finish them off easily. Always focus on the leapers first since they can jump into your back line and kill weaker characters like Sisily or Emi.

If you choose to battle without using Soulburst, focus on the leapers on your second turn and have the High Priestess absorb the damage from the baby yetis. She may be defeated, but she will buy you enough time to finish off all other enemies.

Tips for this battle:

  • Use the tactical view mode to quickly review the battle field.
  • Use the wait command wisely. If you don’t want to move one character right away, use the wait command to move other characters first. For example, it is the Magician’s turn but you don’t have enough energy for his abilities. Wait with the Magician and move Sisily first, as she can generate energy for him so he can attack at the end of the turn.
  • Nera and the High Priestess are extremely useful against the baby yetis since they have high natural resistance against Blue abilities and have good physical damage output.

Strategy Guide

This a challenging battle. Not only is Trojan very fast, but he also has a deadly physical attack and an even deadlier magic attack that hits everyone on the screen called Thunder Beam. Being a Yellow ability, Thunder Beam is brutal to Nera and the High Priestess. A few uses of Thunder Beam can wipe out your entire party!

Not all is lost, however. Emi is immune to Yellow abilities and she can pass her natural resistance to your other members with Lightning Aura. Emi should play a support role in this battle because her Yellow abilities do little to no damage to Trojan.

You should play aggressively but carefully without waiting for Trojan to attack you. He may decide to just stand and use Thunder Beam. The High Priestess is still useful with her Essence of Life Perk; however, she should also play a support role as the healer in this battle.

Sisily and the Magician will be your main source of damage. They can deal a huge amount of damage to Trojan. Nera and Gelyan are your secondary tankers. With the support of Emi and the High Priestess, they will survive long enough. Remember, if things get too dicey you can use the High Priestess’ Soulburst, Blue Paradise, to heal the whole party. Blue Paradise also gives all of your characters 3 extra points of magic!

Tips for this battle:

Emi’s Lightning Aura affects every friendly unit around her. Therefore, try to position your characters so that Emi can stand in the middle of them to maximize her ability.

15th Battle: Rebellious Reptite!

Strategy Guide

This is an interesting battle, though not too difficult. Both sword bandits and leapers are melee flying units which means they are extremely deadly to the backline units. Sword bandits have extremely high agility so they can attack four times during combat!

The good news is that your portion of the map is narrow area and it is hard for them to surround you. Use the choke point to the maximum effect! Shower them with the Magician’s Meteor Strike ability and hurt them badly before they can retaliate. Nera’s Frozen Steps is very strong against the bandits since they are Red Natured, and so is the High Priestess’s Azure Wings.

Emi’s Yellow abilities are not particularly strong against them, but are reliable as finishing moves on weakened units.

Another way to win this battle is have your backline stand next to the wall with Nera, Gely and the High Priestess in front of them. Since there is no space behind you, the enemies have to take down your front line units first.

Tips for this battle:

  • The Magician’s Soulburst, Sun Wrath, is very useful in this battle. Use it as you see fit.

Strategy Guide

There are a few things to pay attention to in this battle.

Firstly, there is a leaper behind your party! You are facing a choice here. If Sisily has been following the magic build, she most likely won’t survive an attack from that leaper. In that case, do not conjure the Magician on your first turn. Use Sisily and Emi before the leaper kills one of your characters. If you are confident about Sisily’s endurance, conjure the Magician.

Another thing is that Gelyan’s starting position is in range of all three bandits! Again, if Gelyan has high endurance and has the Unshaken Heart Perk, he may be able to survive the assault. If that is the case, attack the bow bandit with Gelyan’s Trigger Happy  to severely damage it. Otherwise, move Gelyan back a few tiles, since you don’t want to lose any characters on your first turn.

The rest of the battle should now flow nicely. Use your best judgment.Tips for this battle:

  • The bow bandit is very deadly with his bow and has decent resist. If it is possible, get close to him very quickly with Nera or the High Priestess. They both have a high dodge rate, which is useful against bow attacks. Gelyan is also a good unit to take the bow bandit down if he within range.
  • From this point on, your character builds may have varied. There is not a precise way to beat any battles but if you stick to a good strategy you should be able to beat them regardless.

The bow bandits’ Arrow Barrage ability is extremely lethal. The key in this battle is aggressiveness. Get Nera and the High Priestess next to the bow bandits as soon as possible. If you have been raising Nera’s power, her First Dance ability will deal a lot of damage to them. The High Priestess has a very decent dodge rate and high HP Recovery so she can absorb quite a few hits from them.

If Gelyan has the Marksmanship Perk, he can hit the sword bandit on the first turn. Otherwise, move forward to absorb the hit. Sisily and the Magician should hang back and try to stay out of the range of the Arrow Barrage. The sword bandit will need two turns to reach Sisily, so make sure to defeat him before then.

Defeat Beholder

Difficulty(out of 10)

Strategy Guide

This is one of the more challenging battles. One mistake could cost you the game.
Firstly, you should know how the Beholder’s arms behave. They can cast the Frozen Time spell and cause your characters to lose turns, targeting the units who are closest to them. You can use this behavior to your advantage by trying to place a single unit in front of your party so both of them will freeze only one unit.

The Beholder itself has a good range and strong magical attack. The best unit to absorb this damage is the Magician, since he has high resist and Red Natural Resistance. You should always finish off the Beholder’s arms before dealing with him.

All friendly units will lose 4 agility when fighting the Beholder; unless you have been raising only agility, Sisily and Gelyan can only use one ability per fight. Being Red Natured, the  Beholder will take high damage from Frozen Steps and Azure Wings.

Use Gelyan to snipe off one arm and have Nera and the High Priestess to kill the other. After both arms are down, the Beholder will be much easier to defeat.

Tips for this battle:

  • If possible, have one character leading your party to minimize the effect of Frozen Time.
  • Take down the arms first before fighting the Beholder.
